F.A.Q
Everything You Need to Know About Diving in Bali
Frequently Ask Question
Can you arrange accomodation for me?
Yes, we are more than happy to arrange accommodation for you, ranging from guesthouses for those on a budget to luxury accommodation in top of the range international beach resorts. There’s something to suit everyone’s taste and requirements.
Do organize hotel transfer?
EL Scuba Indonesia provides free transfers for all of our diving guests located in the South of Bali. For those who wish to stay further afield arranging transport for a small additional fee is no problem.
What time you will pick me up and what time will I get back?
Approximate pick-up times are as follows :
Nusa Dua / Tanjung Benoa : 06:30 – 06:45
Kuta : 06:30 – 06:45
Sanur : 07:00 – 07:15
It will be approximately as above but we will not be 100% sure until the day before.
Why are some diving center much cheaper than other?
One difference is that some diving centers do not tell you about all the costs involved. So, when you make the booking, it costs a certain amount, and when you get to the dive center, you have to pay for different extras which make the difference in the end. Be careful, if the price sounds very inexpensive it might not include everything. You might end up paying more than you expected.
The cost we quote is the price you pay, there are no hidden extras.
Another reason is that many companies do not invest in top quality instructors. EL Scuba Indonesia has the best quality dive staff with diving experiences with a great adventure.
We have good quality, safe and well maintained equipment, reliable boats and engines, and put safety and high quality service as top priorities.
Dive Gear, what is supplied and what should I bring?
EL Scuba Indonesia will supply you with all the diving equipment you will need.
Wetsuits:
If you are lucky enough to own a wetsuit and you wish to bring it with you then we recommend the following.
Menjangan and Tulamben: from 3 mm to 5 mm (water temperature is usually between 27 and 29 degrees)
At Nusa Penida a 3 mm is normally sufficient for non Mola Mola seasonal dives. During the Mola Mola season a 5 mm is fine if you are only diving for a couple of days, but if you are planning to stay longer and you usually feel the cold, you might also enjoy a 7 mm or at least bring with you a hood (the water here can drop to below 20 degrees!) Mola Mola season runs from July through to October.
Other equipment:
Of course you are more than welcome to bring any of your own equipment. All of your equipment will be washed for you at the end of every day by one of our dive team. If you are with us for more than a day or two then we will store your equipment overnight in our secure equipment room.
What approximate distances between diving location?
By car:
Airport/ South Bali to Tulamben: 2 hours
Airport/ South Bali to Amed: 2 hours
Airport/ South Bali to Padang Bai: 45/ 50 minutes
Airport/ South Bali to The Menjangan: 4 hours

Is theres anything to do for non-divers?
Bali is the most popular holiday destination in the whole of South East Asia. The undeniable allure of the breathtaking panoramas and stunning flora and fauna make people return again and again.
Of course there is also the cultural side of life on the island of the Gods: Balinese dance, artwork and architecture give the island its unique fascination. There are also other sports such as rafting, trekking, biking and surfing for those that love the outdoors. Activities at a slightly more relaxed pace would include cooking classes, massage sessions, spas, beauty salons and shopping!
If you need any help with arranging some tours or alternative activities (many choices also for kids!) Please contact us and we’ll be glad to assist you
